My name is Cindy Hignite.   
Before I came to St. John’s, I spent over 30 years in the public schools.  I was a teacher in grade K, 2, or 3 for 20 years.  I was an assistant principal/ Title 1 director for almost 8 years.  I was a reading interventionist working with selected 2nd and 3rd grade students for almost 2 years.  I was a reading coach working with K-3 classroom teachers for almost a year.  

I was hired as the administrative assistant here at St. John’s in August 2007.

I graduated from La Porte High School.  I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University.  I earned my Master of Science degree from Purdue.  I earned my elementary and secondary administration licenses from Indiana University.

I live in Knox with my husband.  We have been married since 1982.  He is a former police officer.  We have one daughter who is a forensic scientist.   We have one son who has a marketing degree and certificates in computer tech.
Both of my parents are living in La Porte as are my 3 brothers and their families.
